WoRd PlAyEr'S

Is our Creative writing workshop group that meets every Friday. It's purpose is to inspire the youth to enjoy reading and writing, understanding that it is a very powerful tool to personal achievement and advancement. February is Black History Month; so far we have been inspired by the lives of Frederick Douglas and Booker T. Washington. Both were born into slavery and fought to become writers but even more incredible. Despite all the odds they rose in character and stature and therefore counseled the President of their time. How impressive is that?

Lil Gems Prophetic Arts Training with Min Stine

I hope you all enjoy the pictures! Click here

Little Gems Performing Arts Academy presented a Prophetic Arts Training Workshop, geared towards children on February 14th 2009, which was also Valentines Day.

Gladly though it was a full turnout - a hall with kids eager to follow the direction of Min. Stine.
The event began with Ms Mercy the host, speaking on the vision for the Academy. She then introduced Min.Stine to conduct the training for the day.

Min. Stine began by praying for each child, activating and stirring up the prophetic gifts and calling on the inside of them.
The day was packed with fun activities for the children and teens. From acting out scenes of carrying the burdensome cross as Jesus did, freestyle poetry, performing sections of a worship team using flags, banners, streamers, percussion's, flutes and dance. They learned how to listen to different parts of a song; beat and melody and to choreograph a dance as a group which they performed. They had a session to draw and or write a song on the Armor of God.

During our feedback, questions and answers session a request was made for Min. Stine to dance, of which she did. WoW! It was incredibly soul inspiring, each child's face was fixed on her and you could hear the cries of "O'h! I wanna do that". Ms Mercy shared that through the dance Min. Stine had opened up a door for each child to enter into the next level for them.

The day ended with a Prophetic Act. Min. Stine placed a black diamond sash across the children's chest. Ms mercy explained that this reperesented the mantle of the Priest being activated in the children's lives as called out ones. The diamonds were significant as it symbolises a process of being developed, as the saying goes 'A Diamond in the Rough'. Amazingly so this is an artiste development program under Little Gems unknown to Min. Stine who was led to utilise the sashes. And so the diamonds symbolized the precious 12 gems that was on the Priest's garments on their breastplate. And there you have it God is the same in the beginning as in the end. And what do I mean by that. Well we started out by explaining the vision coming from the Priests wearing the 12 precious stones and so we ended with it also. FINITO!!!!

The response from the children and parents has been overwhelmingly positive. From comments such as during our feedback session "This is the best ever Valentine's Day I have ever had in my Life!" " I have two regrets (1) I should have been there from the opening I felt like we had missed so much and (2) I left before speaking to Min. Stine - I was impressed with the way she connected to the children, and that is one thing that I am always looking for.....I like her".

An email days after the event received said:
Thanks Mercy for inviting the kids on Saturday. They said they had a great time and Hannah hasn't stopped singing and praising the Lord, :) No lie.. I'm serious.
